It is a truth universally acknowledged that a Keeper in possession of the Regency Cthulhu sourcebook must be in want of further resources!

Therefore, gentle reader, the Miskatonic Repository, in conjuction with Messrs. Curwen and Whateley’s Circulating Library and Occult Reading Rooms, present to you this (periodically updating) list of Scenarios, Supplements, and Actual Plays for you to peruse.

Regency Cthulhu Scenarios

Host and Hostility (by SR Sellens)

Our story takes place in England in 1812, only one year into the Regency era. A young lady of good societal standing is introduced at a ball to three potential suitors: a navy captain, a clergyman, and an aristocrat, all with dark secrets that lead to even darker consequences.

Host and Hostility is the ENNIE Award winning collection of three one-to-one scenarios for Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition by Chaosium, making use of the Regency Cthulhu sourcebook. The scenarios range from weird science to high-mythos. Each scenario is written to be run in a single 2-4 hour session.

Victor Frankenstein – Reanimator (by Al Smith)

A Regency scenario. The brilliant scientist Victor Frankenstein has invited the investigators to view what he calls the "greatest scientific accomplishment in the history of mankind" at his luxurious estate, Frankenstein Manor. Things go downhill from there.

Victor Frankenstein-Reanimator is a pamphlet scenario, consisting of enough text to fill up two sides of a piece of paper, intended to be printed out and used with little prep on the part of the author. Instead of extraneous information trying to up the word count, it aims to give you all killer, no filler, just the information that you need to run a killer game of Call of Cthulhu on the fly.

The Well of All Fear (by Kat Clay)

When Mr Millwood, cad-about-town and local ne’er-do-well, goes missing in April 1813, his young sister has the most to lose. Miss Millwood’s fear for her brother is only exacerbated by her own terror; if he were found dead, the family estate would be inherited by a distant relative, leaving the unmarried Miss Millwood destitute. But the young rake has made many enemies in town. From bathhouses to gambling halls, balls to ancient ruins, investigators must track down the missing brother and determine who wishes him gone. In tracking down the young man, investigators must make a costly sacrifice to save the town.

The Well of All Fear is a Regency Cthulhu scenario for Call of Cthulhu 7e, set in the spa town of Buxton, England. The game has been designed for three to five players to play over six to ten hours. Nominated for two ENNIE awards in 2024.

A Drop of Nelson’s Blood (by SR Sellens)

October 1815: it is 10 years since Lord Nelson fell at the Battle of Trafalgar, and a celebratory dinner is being hosted by Vice-Admiral Sir James Bell to commemorate this anniversary. The investigators, along with a small group of dignitaries, are invited to the administrative heart of the Royal Navy for what promises to be a memorable evening. Those gathered all harbour dark secrets, and something is out for their blood.

A Drop of Nelson's Blood is a Regency who-dunnit with a mythos twist, taking inspiration from the 19th Century sea shanty of the same name. With great roleplaying potential and lots of intrigue, this is a good gateway scenario for keepers and players who have not played in the Regency era before.

Forbidden Seas and Perilous Coasts (by Al Smith)

An In Strange Seas adventure for Regency Cthulhu. The crew of the HMS Reliable take a few days of rest to explore the Pura Vida islands, an archipelago known for their unique flora and fauna but encounter something far more otherworldly than they could have ever predicted. Including that someone has been to this island before.

This scenario is designed to last for a short evening or as an interesting interlude for an In Strange Seas campaign. Contains 6 pregens for In Strange Seas adventures, as well as art by Evlyn Moreau and Angel Jones.

The Pursuit (by Cameron Hays)

It is 1808 in the midst of Napoleon’s War. The HMS Plantagenet, a warship in the service of the British Navy, has been surprised by a larger, more heavily armed French ship in the mid-Atlantic. The Plantagenet, suffering from significant damage, now finds itself fleeing a superior opponent, even while strange and awful events unfold onboard. The Pursuit is a Regency Cthulhu scenario for up to six players portraying characters from His Majesty’s navy. Included as part of the In Strange Seas collection.

Time’s Prisoner (by Stephen K. Stein & Carolyn Ivy Stein)

A Pulp Regency Cthulhu Adventure for up to 6 players. Part of the In Strange Seas collection of adventures. Playable in 1-2 sessions.

In 1816, the HMS Harrier sails for Saint Helena where Napoleon, the former Emperor of France, was exiled last year. Few of the Harrier’s passengers are entirely what they seem. Some conceal past scandals. Others carry secrets that endanger the ship. Enroute the HMS Harrier stumbles into a hole in time: an ancient prison holding ancient horrors. Will the heroes find their way home? Or will they die prisoners of time.

The Pirate and the Bride (by Jazmin Ospa & Meghan Kuschner)

1812, Nassau, Bahamas. The Investigators are celebrating the wedding of the Governor's daughter to a Naval Officer. At the lavish party, Tricky Jack and his Troubadours entertain the guests. A trick is then played on the bride...or is it really a trick?

This is playable in one 3-4 hour session.

A Night at the Opera (by Kevin Kreiner)

A weekend long party featuring an opera never before performed in England, and you are invited.  A fine way to start the social season, this event will no doubt be all they talk about in London. Granted, our host is an eccentric man; with curious tastes that some scoundrels would call depraved.  His gardens; his art collection, and his library will certainly be worth exploring.  Of course, there will be music; and dancing, and the latest fashions.

This Regency Era scenario includes numerous NPCs; new Mythos tomes; and eight pre-generated investigators.

The Viscount who Left Me (by Z.V. Cretney)

Bath, 1814: The height of the summer social season. The morning after the society wedding of the year the new Viscountess Huntley secretly summons the investigators to her honeymoon suite. This team of meddlesome bridesmaids are charged with unravelling the mystery of the Viscountess' missing husband without the members of the ton finding out and causing a scandal that could sully many a reputation. Along the way investigators are plunged into a world of curses, folklore and forbidden romance. Will they retain their manners, or will their reputation and sanity be left in tatters as they uncover what really lies at the heart of the river Avon?

The Viscount Who Left Me is a Call of Cthulhu 7th edition scenario for 1-5 players set in 1814, making use of the Regency Cthulhu sourcebook, with inspiration taken from Bridgerton and other period stories.

Echoes in the Mist (by Bridgett Jeffries)

Once you realize that there is no hope... how do you live out your life?

Echoes in the Mist is a story guide written for Regency Cthulhu. Atmospheric disturbances caused by the 1815 eruption of Mount Tambora in Indonesia has caused a global catastrophe of famine, disease, and death: “The Year Without a Summer.”

However, something much more sinister awaits the investigators. A blue comet passes overhead. It brings with it Echoes from the void... and an irrefutable offer.

Their lives will change. Their sanity will be tested. And yet, the spring coming-out balls must continue...

Join us and hail. All hail the Silent Shouter. All hail the Unheard Howler. All hail the Wailer in the Dark. You are the echo that proceeds death.

Northanger Abbey and the Necronomicon (by John Almack)

When Catherine Morland's older brother, James, gets engaged to Isabella Thorpe, her own prospective suitor's father agrees to host a party at his family estate. But none of the guests know General Tilney's true motive or what secrets lay hidden in Northanger Abbey. Regency romance meets Lovecraftian horror in this parody mashup of Jane Austen's classic novel.

Northanger Abbey and the Necronomicon is a short scenario for Regency Cthulhu and Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition.

The Call of the Storm (by Marek Golonka)

Your parents were looking for you on the beach, and saw you in a flimsy boat among the stormy waves. You tried to explain to them what was going on and how you felt, but they still didn't believe that your suffering could be in any way related to the storm. They warned that they would watch over you before the next storm and would not let you leave the cottage.

The Call of The Storm is an independent scenario for Call of Cthulhu 7th edition, set during the Regency period. It's meant to be played by a single investigator and a Keeper, and usually takes under an hour.

Regency Cthulhu Supplements

Debutantes and Dagon (by Evan Perlman)

Prompts & inspiration to help you improvise a short scenario about badass Regency ladies for Regency Cthulhu!

With this book, you and your group can quickly and easily create a group of investigators for the Regency Cthulhu setting, then immediately get them into all kinds of scandalous scenarios.

The badass ladies in Debutantes and Dagon defy the stereotype of Regency-era women as passive wives and mothers with little to do but pursue hobbies, make families, and die of boredom. These ladies are aware of the mythos horrors that constantly threaten the genteel estates of Regency England, and they have both the desire and the skill to do something about it.

In Strange Seas (by Evan Perlman)

In the Regency Era, the Royal Navy is all that stands between England and the imperial designs of Napoleon. Now, the sailors must also stand against the horrors of threats beyond all understanding! Can your investigators survive in the dangerous wooden world of a King’s ship? And if they do, will their reputations survive intact?

In Strange Seas provides a full setting guide for the world of the Royal Navy in Regency Cthulhu.

It is also available with six additional scenarios in print-on-demand here.

The Weekly Rambler volume 1 (by SR Sellens)

Presenting The Weekly Rambler: volume 1, a collection of scenario hooks and seeds for your Regency-era game, laid out in the style of a period newspaper. Whether you're looking for a starting point for an evening of improvised horror, or a diversion for investigators during your ongoing campaign, you will find it in this publication. Either choose an entry that sounds appealing, or, if you want to chance it, draw any number of cards from a deck and see where fortune takes you! You could even hand this document to your players and let them choose the path they want to follow.

The Impossible Chamber (by Kevin Kreiner)

The Impossible Chamber is a campaign sourcebook for Regency era Call of Cthulhu.  Details for how to play as agents of a secret society battling the Mythos from the age of the French Revolution to the age of Andrew Jackson's America.  It includes the history and organization of the Chamber and its allies and enemies.

A sample of the Chamber's inventory includes seven new magical items, eight new Mythos texts that may be used in any game; and eight new spells.  Six ready to play agents are also included.

Also included is an introductory scenario, "Catch Me Who Can" that takes Chamber agents from the halls of London society to the tawdriest slums in pursuit of a mystery.

Snuff: a primer for Regency Cthulhu (by Andrew Edward)

This work is designed to give a Keeper, running stories in Regency, or players in gaslight or classic era, a background on snuff tobacco. This knowledge will provide Keepers and players with a background on snuff, allowing everyone to confidently include it in their period scenarios with a high degree of verisimilitude.  Even today, snuff is still used albeit as a niche product, and therefore this information could be used in modern era as well. Furthermore I provide plot seeds involving snuff, if a Keeper wishes to build a story around this product.

Snuff is a tobacco product and has all the health risks associated with tobacco and nicotine. This work is not an endorsement or encouragement to use the product.
